The kids got a real kick out of a police officer playing Police Officer Badge Bingo! One time, I even had our site officer come in and call them out. Sometimes I allowed students to call out the letters and write them on the board. Once someone claimed they had a Bingo, they had to prove it by reading the letters they had marked.įor those who wanted or needed an additional challenge, I began issuing blank cards.įor some games, I would call out only words and they had to find the first letter.
However, before I had a class set, they would simply circle the letter in pencil or crayon. I simply said a letter (off the top of my head), and then I wrote it on the board. No matter the play style, I generally used the same, simple method for calling out. This is a fun way for students to work towards meeting: As we progressed through the year, I was able to easily adjust the way that we played to accommodate their developing skills. Games are always fun, but I didn’t anticipate how much my kiddos would enjoy an alphabet Bingo game.
